Why do you think God wants us to worship Him?

He doesn't necessarily want worship. With over 300 references to burnt offerings, I think he wants us to make him BBQ. I always do a little wave offering to God when I BBQ.

Because He made us and everything else so He has the right and the power to request His creation be in subjection to Him and Him alone. There can't be two Gods thinking the same thing so there is only one God that has the power to enforce His will. That my friend is the God that created all things, Jehovah God.

Also He is a very loving God. Before creation He was complete. He needed nothing to complement Himself. He created out of love because He knew He could make this thing called life and put human at the hub of His creation in a perfect body and world. He had the insight of sharing all His perfect creation. As our prefect creator He knows exactly what we need and don't need. We can't come close to understanding our needs; look at what we have done! (Jeremiah 10:23) 23 I well know, O Jehovah, that to earthling man his way does not belong. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.
But we with our tiny baby brains think we are so smart but can't see the world falling apart because we refuse to give God His rightful place as our Sovereign head.

We wouldn't be perfect as robots, so He gave us free will to give us an opertunity to return the love He showed in His creation for us, and what did our parents do?

So very smartly He gave us a chance to see for ourselves what we are made of. Guess what. We are only made of dust. I wonder what God is made out of? He made Moses' face glow and Moses' wasn't even looking at Him!

There are billions upon billions of stars that He made. If you put just a pin head of the sun matter on earth it would kill all life within a ninety mile radius. Just how powerful is He?

He set down all the laws of physics that hold subatomic matter together inside the atom, His laws hold the universe together. Just how smart is He? And puny mankind says great big bang. They have great big ignorance.

As for your question; God is our very best pick if we had a choice to be our sovereign headship. But thank Jehovah we don't have a choice, for I'm sure people would be voting for Satan himself!!!!!
What has Satan done for you? Did he make you feel good when you get away from it all and go into nature? Did Satan create the stars to fill you with amazement and wonder? Did he have anything to do with the design of creating a baby that brings so much joy to the parents? Our creator thought of it all before He started.

Jehovah wants you alive. (2 Peter 3:9) 9 Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.

As for me and my household; we will worship the only one and true God Jehovah, the creator of all things.

I would rather be a live worshiper of the loving God Jehovah than a dead worshiper of hateful Satan.

He could just create creatures and torture them if he wants to. No one can stop him. No one can tell him what is right and wrong. He makes the rule. Just look at humen, how weak and tiny they are in this huge universe. Once a persen feel powerful he became a tyrent.
