like, say if i play a game, and save it to my memory card. well, if i have the same game but on a different disc (not a burnt disc) will the memory card still have my saved stuff on it from the previous disc?

The card is what saves the information - Your can use a million different discs and it will have the same information.

The information on the disk is the same on every disk. As long as you play the same version of the game it doesn't matter what disk created the save. (Note that deliberately divided games are NOT the same version.)
