Ga, my friend, you just encapsulated fundamentalism both Christian and Muslim in one pithy question.
A star for you, man.

I see your point...
But you have left out some folks in your equation.
There are many, many innocent people being abused and tortured by a system of government that is cruel and demanding, and cannot be tolerated in a free world.
Should we not, as Christians, defend their rights?
It's a quandary...and me, I'm very glad I'm not the one who has to make these decisions.
At this point, we're damned if we stay, and damned if we pull out. There is no good outcome to this war that I can see...no matter what we do.
You're right about one thing, though...at the end of the day, this is a religious war.
If you aren't Christian or Muslim, I urge you to think...which would you rather have making your laws? That's pretty much the choice in Afghanistan and Iraq, I'm afraid...

A good way to answer your question is to ask Jesus.
Jesus told of tenant farmers who refused to pay rent, attacked the rental agents, and finally killed the owner’s son (Luke 20:9-19).
"What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them?” Turn to the other cheek? Not in this case. “He will come and kill those tenants and give the vineyard to others."
In the last century, nations influenced by Christianity rose up to stop Hitler, and then resisted the deadly atheists of the USSR until the Berlin Wall fell. In this century, Christians fight to stop a terrorist cult that uses mass murder to promote theocratic dictatorship.
Christian action sometimes requires military force. Tragic, but that's the real world.
Cheers,
Bruce

No. If we all loved each other like God asks us to love, we would not have the war. Not even the war against terrorism.

Of course not, we're Christians, not Muslims.
