It's really still too early to tell but realistically 7 guys still have a real good chance of catching Jeff Gordon. With Tony -2, Carl -3, Jimmie -4, Kyle -10, Clint -18, Truex -46 and even Burton at -75. But Harvick at -115, Kenseth -116, Kurt -151 and Hamlin at -158 will have a tougher chance but are not out of it yet. So really the 'Chase' is still anybody's to win or lose.

Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Carl Edwards Martin Truex Jr. , And Jimmie Johnson are my favs to win the NASCAR Nextel Cup Championship/ NASCAR Chase for the Nextel Cup.

I felt at the start of the year that Jimmie would repeat this year and that hasn't really changed much. Generally, he has a great first 26 races then struggles a little in the early chase races before coming on strong at the end...but this year has been totally different, lol

So he'd be my first pick, while next would be...Kyle Busch.

Shrub hasn't really done anything this past month yet he's only a handful of points behind after todays race. If he gets his act together, I think he could be a good choice...no one questions his talent and he has the motivation of getitng dumped from HMS to focus him.

At this point they all have a chance to win the cup, it's just
to darn early to see who has a clear cut lead. I think Gordon
seems to have the edge over the rest, even if he hasn't won
a chase race yet. He's been able to get into the lead and
stay there but you still can't count out the other top 5 drivers
in the chase, it's just to darn early.

Yep, the competition is getting very tough. Its really too early to tell, look at what happened to Jimmy Johnson, last week in first this week in fourth! All it takes is one bad race!!!!
I still think any of the 12 drivers have a chance, you just never know.

Go Jeff Burton!!!

anything could happen. I don't think it was very fair to Jeff Gordon starting back even with the others in the chase, it is like what are the points for, he had a huge lead just to lose it all, there should of been some sort of bonus points. Well I guess there is a method in their madness.

I am a fan until the ridiculous chase starts and then I am not. Sorry I don't even know who's in that stupid chase.
They need to dump this stupid thing along with the top 35 and maybe they will make it seem like a race series again.

After looking at the points, anyone in the top ten still has a great shot. The last two are going to need some help. My money is on Stewart.

Gordon is the leader now. Stewart-Johnson-edwards and kyle Bush have the best chances at this point!!! Still 8 races left anything can happen!!!
