You will never know until they are already in place. The personnel who are deploying never really know where they are going until at least a month before they leave. Even then, they never know exactly when they're leaving. If people knew the who, what, when and where with our deployments, that would give our adversaries the edge and ultimately allow them the opportunity to cause significant damage. Remember, loose lips sink ships.
As a matter of fact, you could very well be listed as a suspect just for asking a question like that. That's something that you shouldn't do because you're drawing attention to yourself and acting suspicous. OPSEC plays a key role in getting us from point A to point B without giving that information out. Besides, we troops are a lot like mushrooms. They feed us **** and keep us in the dark. I hope this has answered your question.

Unless you are a family member assigned to an FRG you will know nothing. if you know someone personally in the Marines it is THEIR choice to tell you and only when they know themselves which can change at any given time and usually last minute too. Just the fact that you asked this question makes me think you have no affiliation with the Marines and are not a family member. I hope no one is dumb enough to give out this information because I'm sure you and their answer will be reported. You never know who is watching...

you don't. If you are assigned to a specific devision, you will be told ONLY when you arrive and not before.
Otherwise, you are not going to find out, as that is a matter of OPSEC and the information will not be publicly disseminated.
