i am in grade 10, and i met this guy up north hes kinda a friend of the family. hes kinda shy i guess and good looking. he is also my age and has seen me in a bikini. well i added him on msn and he tells me how much he likes me and how much fun he had hanging out with me and how pretty i am and he wished we went to the same schools. it sounds like he likes me but then sometimes he doesnt even talk to me at all! does he really like me?

I would suggest you try flirting with him and see how he responds. Our ability to tell if he likes you is very limited.

I'm pretty sure about a few things:
1. He finds you interesting (attractive, fun, etc)
2. He likes you
3. He is not really serious
and heres the breakdown of what the above points mean:
1. He finds you interesting so for him theres nothing to lose in talking to you and saying good things about you.
2. He likes you, but hey people meet people they like, dont care about, and dislike. Liking you means he is fond of you, but there is absolutely no way liking someone translates to being absolutely serious.
3. He doesn't talk to you sometimes, yet other times can't seem to stop saying good things about you. This ties back to point 1 and 2. He is fond of you but relationships don't happen suddenly. Time and committment is important. You are here, he is there. Unless either one of you makes an effort to bring things to another level (as in at least start talking more frequently), things are going to stay the same and eventually fade. Guys meet many many girls they feel attracted to, and the same goes for girls. The question is are people a fit for each other? And, if so, did either or both put in the effort to ensure the budding relationship blossums?
So at this point, he may be see you as an interesting person, and as you see him too. Perhaps you can take the initiative and try to talk to him more. Test the waters.

well that's how all guys act they say the sweetest thing then they could be bitter its their way of trying to play hard too get if u guys ever hang out ND he says the same thing too you around his friends and didnt change but if he does then he just another guy trying to be kool ND show he is not a punk or he could just be too scared too let you know how he fells you did say he was shy u should just go in and ask him up straight forward if you like him be like i raelly like you alot ND if you feel the same maybe we can be more the frieNDs nd if that works that's great if it doe sent then mum just continue to be friend never know what might happen in the future

Well, being a guy, it seems to me that if he really liked you, he would never avoid you. That's just my opinion...By the way, I like most women I meet in a bikini too, doesn't mean I want to date them though.

at that age you keep all your options open. you are also full of fluctuating hormone levels and borderline insane. So yes, he likes you in that way, and no, he doesn't like you in that way, all at the same time. Don't worry, only takes another 6-8 years for them to grow up...if you're lucky.

He is most likely using you. Guys like that usually have other girls they are also hitting on. Dont get too caught up on what he says. Find someone close by that you know will always be there for you.

Usually if a guy tells you he likes you, he likes you...but then there's those instances when you can't be certain. I know exactly where ur coming from...if it were me...yeah...i would say he likes u!! ;)
