Innova EVO small bites!! BENEFUL IS A BAD FOOD FOR ANY DOG!! Switch to a food where the 1st ingredient is not corn! Look for meat or meat meal as THE FIRST ingredient, and NO CORN!

Even better would be a raw diet consisting of raw chicken, chicken hearts, and such. There are many sites on these diets, and they will extend your dog's life like nothing else can!

Beneful is been-a-filled with garbage and grains and colors and other impurities. It is marketed well but is all gimick and is NOT good for any dog. Don't be fooled by the commercials. The label tells the truth and it is total junk.
The Innova and some of the other brands people have mentioned are better. Take some time to learn how to read labels. Your dog will thank you for it. The internet is loaded with info on how to read a label and what the words actually mean.
Cheap food eventually = high vet bills. Don't skimp on diet. You pay more for the premium foods, but in the long run you pay much less because the dog can eat less of it since it is not filled with useless fillers, the health of your dog will be better in the long run thus saving you costly vet bills.
At least a dozen times a day you can read questions on here about sickly dogs, dogs who are losing hair, dogs who are vomiting, diahrrea, dogs who are chewing their feet, dogs with rancid breath, oily or dry nasty coats, smelly dogs, etc.. ALL of these problems are because of diet.. People don't want to admit they are feeding their dogs garbage so they deny that and look for a fix to the symptoms instead of looking at the cause and starting there. Don't be one of those people. :)

Beneful is terrible. It is very low quality. Beneful contains by-products-, Wheat,Corn, Fake meat.... etc) Dogs need to have lots of meat in their food. They are Carnivores and need meat in thier food. Something WAY healthier than beneful is a brand called Innova. Small bite sized peices and very healthy. I hope you haven't been feeding benful. Don't feed anyfood to your dog that is from the market. Buy pet food from a petstore, not from a market. Or f you can't find innova in your area, try canidae dog food. It is just as healthy.

Added: Purina is just as bad!

Beneful is a horrible food. It has disgusting ingridients. I reccomend you try Evo small bites,or Canidae. I don't think the kibble is too big in either of those. Dont buy Pedigree, their kibble is COLOSSAL.

I feed my dogs Timberwolf Organics Wild and Natural. This kibble is very small, smaller than a pencil eraser and my Shih-tzus love it. It seems expensive at first but my 14 lb 2 yr old Shih-tzu only eats 3/4 of a cup of it a day, and my 11 yr old 35 lb labX and my 18 lb 3 yr old Shih-tzu only eat 1 cup a day.

In my opinion any pet food found at grocery stores is junk and I wouldn't feed it to my dogs. I prefer to give them grain free foods

Try Canidae; the kibbles are so small it's almost like cat food sized. And it is good, quality food. Don't buy any food at Walmart or a chain pet store.

Beneful is very bad for your dog.

Let's take a look at the first few ingredients:

Ground yellow corn, chicken by-product meal, corn gluten meal, whole wheat flour

Corn is very bad for your dog, and should NOT be the number one ingredient! It causes diarrhea and allergies, and is hard to digest. It has very little nutritional value.

By-products: Bones, intestines, skin, feathers/hair. Need I say more?

Corn gluten meal: Another cheap filler, your dog needs meat, not fillers!

Whole wheat flour: Dogs do not need flour or wheat, another crappy filler.

Down the list there is also salt, sugar and artificial colorings. Nasty, nasty. Us humans may not eat the best foods, but we have complete control over what our dogs eat. They depend on us to feed them the very best food out there!

I reccommend holistic foods like Chicken soup for the dog lover's soul, Innova, Wellness, Orijen, Solid Gold, and Timberwolf.

It may cost more, but a few extra healthy years of life is totally worth it!

closest to it how? in price? quality?

imo beneful is crap food. if you want something that has a small kibble, is resomibly priced, and way better quality go with something like inova, wellness, natural balance, or solid gold. all of those foods come in a small kibble and are fantastic foods. i feed my papillons wellness because of allergies and ibd, but i personally love inova. especially there grain free line evo.

Dogs' teeth are designed to crunch through meat and bones. They are not designed to chew kibble - have a look at the difference between your teeth and your dog's. It is pretty obvious we are designed to eat different things.
