They have at least three according to the US Navy. There are currently only three nations with deployed submarines capable of launching nuclear cruise missiles; The US, Russia and Israel, pretty elite club I'd say.

They won't tell anyone -- they've never even officially confirmed that they have nuclear weapons.

But sub-launched nuclear missiles are a higher level of complexity than ground-launched missiles -- because of the miniaturization required for many of the components. So, it is possible that they haven't developed that technology yet.

On the other hand -- the fact that a few years ago they started buying larger submarines from other countries -- so that they had a wide range of different sub types -- indicates an intent to expand into that arena.

The bottom line is that nobody (outside their govt) is sure -- but it could be as many as a half-dozen.

Every countries submarines and their operations (ie. how close they been caught off our coasts, etc.) are classified top-secret so we will probably never know for sure.

Though we will never know for sure if they have been retrofitted for nukes and carry them.
