Hi i have a speedstream 5260 dsl modem box and i am trying to connect it in my room. there is another one downstairs but it turns off at night and whenever i try and turn on mine the sys turns green but then the dsl keeps flashin green and yellow but looks like red. the other modem is a speedstream 5260 and it works fine when i switch them but when i try and run one in my room it dosn't any help would be appreciated ty

Ok thanks everyone I just rearranged the dsl lines and split the lines so i can have it upstairs. i cannot have the one running downstairs because who ever made the house put the dsl line right in the hall way so i disconnect it at night and i wanted to have another place to put it

the telephone pairs that are bringing the DSL signal are only going to the wall jack downstairs and not to your room.

Well, you wont be able to have both of them on at the same time period. Only one at a time will connect and work! You will need to check the wires to be sure the DSL is on the correct telephone pair in both places but if the one downstairs is on and working, the one upstairs will not be able to get a DSL connection. Be sure to try the working one (from downstairs) in your room upstairs and be sure it works, that will verify the line. You may indeed have a different line as primary upstairs.
My only question is why turn off the one downstairs at night? Just leave it running and use a wireless router for upstairs!
