Yes, they have sad dreams, scary dreams, happy dreams nightmares.......they have dreams all the time...... belive it or not, dogs are just like humans. They can have headaches tummy aches.... they can get sick... etc .)Why can't they have dreams? The only difference is that they can't tell us,"I had a great day, but my leg hurts." If they could talk you would be suprised at what they would say. Dogs are just like humans. You have to keep that in mind.

Aaaabsolutely they do. I watch one or other of ours yipping, and moving the legs as if running lol. Another of ours is such a happy dog, her nickname is Thumper, because wherever she is in the house her tail is forever thumping against the furniture as she wags it in sheer pleasure of being alive. Sometimes, asleep, I'll lie in bed and hear the thump thump thump of her tail against the floor. She's "wagging in her sleep" LOL.
I love knowing that whatever my dogs are dreaming about, it has to be pleasurable because they have never known an unhappy day in their lives.

They sure do. Just like us, they make noises and have rapid eye movements while they are dreaming. Sometimes mine growl and even bark at something they are seeing in their sleep. You can watch their feet moving as if they are running in their dreams. They are so much like us, but too bad they can't tell us their dreams!

Yep, they can have dreams AND nightmares. They have more nightmares if they going through post traumatic stress disorder, just like a person would. Also, many other animals drem too, like birds and horses.

Definately! They run and bark and dig. Next time you see your dog moving in his sleep, look at his eyelids, you will see the eyes are rapidly moving back and forth just as we do.

Yes they do. Next time, if you get a chance, watch your puppy while he is in a deep sleep. Its pretty cute. I've seen my puppy bark, move her legs and even makes a suckling sound as if she is still with her mommy.

Of course they do. My Labrador runs and plays with our other dog, and when she sleeps, her legs move like she's running, and she yelps and barks like when she's awake. All or most dogs do this.
