We have been 'dating' for almost a month and a half, I am 52 she is 55, she always works and comes home late but I wait for her to IM me and let me know she is safe, she said last week that she appreciates that from me; today she says I email her too much, she needs her space and she is not used to having someone care for her so much, what is going on?

Lloyd sounds pretty much like she has spelled it out for you pretty well, so why you need to ask a bunch of total strangers what is going on is beyond my understanding. Simply put it sounds as if you are smothering her with too much attention and devotion. Also sounds like she is not ready or prepared to commit to such a giving relationship and that she may actually feel a bit guilty that she doesn't feel the same way in return. Perhaps if you did back off a bit she might come to miss what you have so freely given and then realize that you treat her with respect and this is a good thing. She has probably been in relationships prior that she never received this much attention and may have even been abused in some, so this is totally alien to her. Give the woman some space as she asked and it may very well work in your benefit in the long run. Best of luck to both of you in getting through this.

damn you are old and her too arn't you guys a little to old for this!! that's just my opinion! when a women says she needs her space she needs her space
