This is completely normal. Microsoft Office is a totally different program that you have to purchase separately. Almost no computers ship with it pre-installed because it would add several hundred dollars to the price of the machine, although some computers do come with trial versions of the software installed. You have to pay for the full version, though. You can also download and install OpenOffice from www.openoffice.org. This is a free, open source office package that works under Vista.

Why buy office 2007 for $300 when you can have a better office package for free... or why run vista at all when you can have a better operating system for free....

ok click on the link below and download Open Office 2. It has everything 2007 has and more... if you work with office 2007 documents then Open Office will read and write ms office 2007 documents, so you will have no problems there...

click on the web link below and download Open Office 2, make sure you download the one for windows.

I think it is normal. Microsoft office is purchased separately. You might have the free trial. You have to buy the extra software. The retailer might sell it or certain stores like Staples and circuit city. Just shop around. You should have Home premium unless you request otherwise.

Vista doesn't come with word, or powerpoint unless you buy the professional office version. I bought a Dell notebook with Home Premium, and had to reload the disks that I had bought because it didn't come with it. Dell even said in their ad that it didn't have word. Sorry.

Office is separate. It does not come with Windows no matter what version you have.
