I have a Savage model 111 in 30-06, and I was just curious about one thing. I always hear about models like the 110,112, 114, 116, etc., but I never hear anything about the Savage Model 111. Why is this?

OK..To answer all your questions at once.

The Savage Model 111 was manufactured in (11) that's right 11 different variations between 1994 thru 2005 when it was discontinued. The 111 was a variation of the Savage 110 Model that proceeded the 111 and was mass produced by the thousands. Many of the parts are interchangeable between the 110,111,and 112 Savage Rifles. Since the market was literally over-flowed with these models, they are just not popular, don't have any additional collectors value, so you don't hear much about them. Your gun was produced between 1998-2003 according to the serial number. They came with many different stock options, rifle & scope packages, and were sold by every major chain store that sold firearms.

I had the 110 an it was a terrific Rifle.* I had it gass bedded & free floated.* I could shoot three shot groups with it you could cover with a quarter on a regular basis at 100 yards.
