So what if it is? Christians hardly have the best lifestyle to begin with.

I do, too. It's awful. I don't even watch TV anymore.
If people think this is not serious, they are nuts. I'm 60 and things were not like this when I was growing up-- I can't help but think TV and movies leaves a very negative impression on our youth.
TV was clean and wholesome back in the 50's and 60's and schools had no problems, young people were more polite and people were more polite and helpful. I'm just glad I had a change to sample life before so I could see the difference.

There are a lot of things on tv that dont promote a very Christian lifestyle, but they arent required to do that. It's up to the viewer to choose programs that do promote Christian or moral values.

I am not Christian so it bothers me very little. There are a lot of us that aren't Christians that watch tv too.
If you desire shows that promote Christianity then watch stations that are expressly dedicated to that type of programming. You do own a remote control, yes? If something is on I do not like, I simply turn the channel.

I think tv is promoting what brings in advertising dollars. Generally that means sex, violence, or graphic nudity.
But this is not a bad thing in our society. In a market economy, you are free to choose what you watch and what you don't. The v-chip allows parents to censor shows based on rating. Private companies offer alternative cable channels that are "family" or "Christian" friendly. There is no excuse, nor was there ever an excuse, for the government censorship of cable television.

even if it was, that should be a blessing. religion is a bane. i just think it shouldn't promote such a stupid materialistic lifestyle. as if being the head of some major company and making millions of dollars and owning top notch everything made you any better of a person. shouldn't people already know what happiness is? why do they rely on their fake culture to tell them what happiness is? why do they let themselves be led to believe that they are unsuccessful? it's just dumb.

I think it feeds the masses what they want for ratings and for money.
It's a lot like xianity but it's more honest.
Xianity was invented so lazy blokes could get free room and board for life.
There's good money to be made from religion IF you can keep a straight face.

Most definitely. There is very little on TV that is suitable for family viewing. We do not watch much of it anymore.
As for someone saying free speech. I wonder if our founders knew where it would head if they would have included it in our constitution.

The entire media is doing so.
The change from what was presented in the media in the 60s and 70s and now is nothing short of disgusting.
