No.

The term "brothers" refers more to monks, friars, and fellow Christians/ human beings. "Fathers" on the other hand refers to priests only.

A brother is usually not a priest. He is a vowed religious, but cannot celelbrate the Mass.

He is basically a male version of a nun- devoted to prayer.

A priest has at least 4 years of graduate level theology after a 4 year degree, plus a pastoral year of service and 6 mths-a year as a transistional deacon BEFORE they can celebrate Mass.

i don't know what batman and green lantern's problem is (their asnwers are the two above mine) because scotgirl nailed the answer properly. they are various orders throughout the Catholic church. a diocesean priest in particular is a "father" while a brother is generally a different "order" - kind of like we have different nationalities. if you lok at the Cappucian order there are brothers - they are devouted men who have given up their life to serve Christ but they are not priests (hence term father). some Cappucians are also fathers as they are priests.

I don't think we have a problem with anyone. The problem is that when they bash other religions and they have no idea about them. Green Lantern and Batman have much better things to do than to keep going back and showing the error.

If she is intelligent fine go write a book, but why come into Islamic question posted for Muslims if she has no knowledge other than her own bias. That is all they are saying so if you go back and read the ones about Quran, and Muhammed Pbuh and Islam you will see, her bias is very great indeed and lacks great knowledge. So if you care to do some research you will see. She states that Muslims women are oppressed, if that is true then show the proof other than hearsay and conjecture God willing.
Peace always but why do they bother to post their thoughts if they are not Muslims?

Anglicanism is a tradition of Christian faith. Churches in this tradition either have historical connections to the Church of England or have similar beliefs, worship and church structures. The word Anglican originates in ecclesia anglicana, a medieval Latin phrase dating to at least 1246 meaning the English Church. Adherents of Anglicanism are called Anglicans. The great majority of Anglicans are members of churches which are part of the international Anglican Communion. There are, however, a number of churches outside of the Anglican Communion which also consider themselves to be in the Anglican tradition, most notably those referred to as Continuing Anglican churches. The faith of Anglicans is founded in the scriptures, the traditions of the apostolic church, the apostolic succession—"historic episcopate" and the early Church Fathers. Anglicanism forms one of the branches of Western Christianity; having definitively declared its independence from the Roman pontiff at the time of the Elizabethan Religious Settlement. By the mid 17th century the Church of England (and associated episcopal churches in Ireland and in England's American colonies) came to be seen as comprising a distinct Christian tradition with theologies, structures and forms of worship representing a middle ground, or via media, between Roman Catholicism and Protestantism. Following the American Revolution, Anglican congregations in the United States and Canada were each reconstituted into an independent church with their own bishops and self-governing structures; which, through the expansion of the British Empire and the activity of Christian missions, was adopted as the model for many newly formed churches, especially in Africa, Australasia and the regions of the Pacific. In the 19th century the term Anglicanism was coined to describe the common religious tradition of these churches; as also that of the Scottish Episcopal Church, which, though originating earlier within the Church of Scotland, had come to be recognised as sharing this common identity. The degree of distinction between Reformed and western Catholic tendencies within the Anglican tradition is routinely a matter of debate both within specific Anglican churches and throughout the Anglican Communion. Unique to Anglicanism is the Book of Common Prayer, the collection of services that worshipers in most Anglican churches used for centuries. While it has since undergone many revisions and Anglican churches in different countries have developed other service books, the Prayer Book is still acknowledged as one of the ties that bind the Anglican Communion together. There is no single Anglican Church with universal juridical authority, since each national or regional church has full autonomy. As the name suggests, the Anglican Communion is an association of those churches in full communion with the Archbishop of Canterbury. With over seventy-seven million members the Anglican Communion is the third largest Christian communion in the world, after the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church.

+ Religious Brothers +

In Catholicism, men who have taken vows of chastity, poverty and obedience in a religious order but have not been ordained are called religious brothers or just brothers.

Brothers have not been ordained into the priesthood.

+ Priests +

There are two types of Catholic priests:

A diocesan priest is ordained to serve in a specific geographical area (called a diocese). He ministers under the leadership of a bishop, and will more than likely serve as a parish priest. These priests take vows of chastity and obedience but not poverty.

A religious priest is ordained into a religious order like the Society of Jesus (Jesuit) or Franciscans. He receives duty assignments from superiors in their respective religious orders. Some religious priests specialize in teaching, whereas others serve as missionaries in foreign countries, where they may live under difficult and primitive conditions. Other religious priests live a communal life in monasteries, where they devote their lives to prayer, study, and assigned work. These priests take vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience.

Religious brothers and religious priests who live separated from the world in a monastery are called monks.

+ Religious Sisters +

Women who have taken vows of chastity, poverty and obedience in a religious order are called religious sisters or just sisters.

The term nun is usually reserved for religious sisters who live separated from the world in a cloister or monastery.

+ With love in Christ.
