they never really eat alot; like there little food bowl thing would last a week. but now i have to refill it everyday! and its alot of food i put in there...and when there done eating it they try to rip the bowl off the cage.. i dont starve them. i just notice they eat lall day!! why is that??? oh and there more loud they sound like little monkeys...

maybe they are bored! have you got toys in their cage?? this could be why.

First of all, you should put fresh food in their dishes EVERY DAY. Especially parakeet seed -- it's VERY hard to tell empty husk from uneaten seed. All of my birds will attempt to throw their food dishes off the counter or off the cage when they're done.

are you sure you have parakeets ? I have never heard of parakeets eating alot . This all sounds strange . good luck .

hi i have a ringneck parakeet mine eats a small bowl a day and fresh fruit. he is not over weight very healthy

Your expectations are too high. A bird who is "spoiled" on expensive foods is a healthy bird, assuming you do get what you pay for. If you want a pet that isn't too loud get a fish or something. It is not easy to tame a budgie and most people will give up. Please do more research.

change food seed daily offfer pellets .as well in cage 24/7 offer vegs and fruits every other day. they sound like they arent getting enough food and yes they will eat if they arent getting enough getting a little bigger seed dish too helps. specially if there is more then one in the cage .
