If you admit to having trouble seeing, then that's a big sign!
Can you read license plates of other cars on the road?
Do you catch yourself squinting your eyes, or does squinting make things a little better?
Do you lean forward with bad posture at the computer to get a little closer to the monitor?
Have you tried on a friend's glasses and seen that things are a little clearer?
Even with a mild prescription, the experience of seeing clearly after living in a mild blur is pretty amazing. Remember, visiting the eye doctor and being prescribed glasses doesn't mean you have to wear them if you're not experiencing a benefit.

For most people that are near sighted it's something that started early on. You can often find the person squinting frequently when trying to read things far away. It is easier to spot in children because they are constantly looking at things far away at school. They may mention the fact that they can't see the board. Some chidlren have headaches from staring so hard. Many people can't recall the one thing that they noticed but parents sometimes see it. If for some reason the parents don't see it, the anual trip to the Optomatrist is where is can be diagnosed. As for the person who posted before me... If you ask any person that is found to have poor eye sight they will say everything seemed fine before. When all you see if blurry, you adjust and work with it. It's like when you ask someone that smokes if they can smell it on their own clothes. They'll say no because thats what they usually smell. If you ask that same person after they quit if they can smell it, they will say yes.

I've been this way since I was 10 years old. The first sign of it was during an in-class eye exam at the start of the school year. I could no longer read the smallest letters on the eye chart. Some of my classmates told me I needed glasses. As the year progressed, I found myself having to move closer to be able to read the blackboard. Over time, I found it more and more difficult to see distant objects clearly. After about a year of this, I got my first pair of glasses.

-In school, I cannot make out the board unless I am in the first or second row.
- I cover my right eye when I read because it makes it easier to see things.
-I get awful headaches when I look at any concentrated light source.
-When I am driving, I miss exits because I can't see the signs until I am really close to them.
-I cant read the lisence plates of the car in front of me.
-I copy notes off the people behind me because its easier to see than the board.
-On the eye test they give you in school I can only read the first two rows.
And a bunch of other stuff, but thats the just of it. I am only slightly nearsighted (-1.25) so I can see without glasses, its just really difficult.

One way to check is if you can see the time. Start really close to your clock (almost any will do). Step back further, until you can't tell what time it is. Depending on how far back you can go, you can sort of tell how bad your eyes are. Aside, you should go to your eye doctor for a test.

Without my glasses or contacts on, I can't see a word on the computer when I'm sitting 2 feet away from it. My glasses are -4.50 and -5.25, and my contacts are -3.25. When a put a box of Clue a foot away from my face, I can read the age requirements, though.

You can see things close up to you, but you can't see things far off. I've been near sighted all my life.
