I called the 1800 number on the back of the card last nite to find out what my balance was on the card and the recording said my payment was due on 9/19. I missed it because I work quite a bit and dont think I ever got a bill. Will this adversely affect my credit? I paid them a payment right away over the phone and she told me she would take the fee off my credit card bill. What does that mean?

She meant she will waive the late fee for you. That doesn't mean your interest will stay the same. Check to make sure that you'll not pay the default rate. The default rate occurs when payment is late, usually 32.24%.

You're only late 3 days. They will not report unless you are 30 days late. I don't like Discover. You can't take the card oversea and their rate is not the best rate. I have a FICO of 793 and they still charge me 11.99 APR. I've never been late, ever.

Actually a few things could occur; if you were over 30 days that will show up on credit and IF there was a late fee attached and it put you over your limit that also will show up on credit. Both of those factors will lower your score. If you just had a late fee and it wasn't past 30 days and it didn't over limit you; you will be ok.

Discover WILL jack your rate and assess late fees. Check your statement online. get a payment in and call them asap. We got screwed over by them more then once.

Don't worry. It will not affect your credit. Only if it was more than 30 days.
