Can't you just spread your word and leave everyone alone with their own decisions? Isn't that better if you are a loving and an understanding believer?

compendious, you are right, there are those types of Atheists, too. I wish they could do the same and leave others alone. But I think they are acting in this way because they are fed up hearing preaches or how much they are gonna get doomed in hell etc. If everyone leaves the other one alone, people can think clearly. I believe that those types, who bash their ideas on others, are doing nothing but making them dislike everything that is related with God.
I just wish that they can learn to leave some space to others.

Believe in God, or you'll be thrown into a lake of fire for the rest of eternity. Repent for your sins now, and praise God for your entire life!~
I agree with you one-hundred percent. People shouldn't be pressured into someone else's decisions.

I'm a Christian but I don't try to make others believe. I don't force anyone to look at my beliefs. I see a growing trend today of more people who are atheists or agnostics who tell Christians that their religion is false and that they believe in fairy tales. They say quite a few other derogatory things about God and Jesus. I am a loving and understanding believer. If someone has questions, I will answer them, but I don't go around spreading the word of God and Jesus (although the Bible tells Christians to do so!). If I so much as mention my belief anymore, people accuse me of preaching, so now I don't try to make atheists believe.

I'm a Christian and have been coming into Y/A for a little while. I've seen a lot of atheists posting their opposition to people who believe in God. I could ask the same question you are. Why are so many atheists trying to convince Christians to denounce their faith in God? Isnt it exactly the same thing? How about if I-personally,leave you alone and you personally leave me alone? We can both go our own way-happily.

As a Christian I tell people what Jesus has done for me and share the Good News.
By doing this some atheist take it as trying to convert or forcing our beliefs down their throats.
We can't make anyone believe.

Many so-called "believers" are nagged by chronic doubt. Many of them even suspect they have been duped. The idea of having to redefine what they believe and/or the nature of the reality in which they live is quite frightening to them. Therefore, they feel if they can make you "swallow" the same tired, old, ridiculous lies that they have, then that somehow justifies their belief in nonsense.

1. No one can "make" you believe anything.
2. Those who believe in nothing will fall for anything
3. We are genuinely concerned for your eternal soul and don't want you going to hell -even if you don't care about your own soul and the coming judgement.
4. Atheists also try to force Christians into their beliefs -ie; the belief that there is no God and evolution

Oh all those centuries of crusades and invasion- all in the name of one's religion.
Unfortunately, many people in this world do this because they are completed to, or even worse, to forward their own evil little plans.
I just don't understand where did these people get their ideas that their god would say: " I COMMAND YOU FOR MY RELIGION. JOIN NOW OR SUFFER INFINITE DEATH!"
it is exactly what dictators and conquerers said to their enemies. (remember 300?)
Nobody likes to be force-fed.

You're right. I, as a Christian, am called to be a witness not a lawyer. I am commanded to share my story of what Christ has done for me, not make you decide one way or the other lawyer-style.

because they want to make everyone be a slave to the "God". it's stupid and they don't like the idea people have not believed in the bible. So they go and scare people by saying you will go to hell if you don't believe in the bible.
