i am not like a dog that needs "taking out".
if i want to go out, i can take myself, or we can go out together
do you understand this idea of the man "taking" the woman out?
should the woman not "take" the man out?

It is, its also unfair to say about your specific relationship. That aside don't worry about it, its your relationship. Everyone whats to believe that, thats what a relationship is, going out party, come home have sex, wake up go to work, repeat as neccasry. Its easier and requires no real thinking or connection, but being able to have a good time just with yourselves, now thats priceless! I think you were really after the sexist card, but what do you expect there not thinking about it, there just going thru the motions, not because they don't love you, but because they don't know better. Pat them on the head and let them know that you and your man are fine....
