Is there such a bird?

Birds are social creatures. To leave your bird alone, for days at a time while you travel, would not only endanger it's life but would make for a very unhappy, unsocialized bird with serious issues. Birds that are neglected have been known to engage in self-mutilation (feather-plucking) to the point of putting themselves in near death danger. In short, you'd have a being, the bird, in solitary confinement for long periods and possibly drive it to injure itself severely. To top this off, if the bird had an emergency (toe caught in cage, toy, etc.) it's possible no one would be around to help it before it either bit off toes in an attempt to free itself, or it died. Would you want to be in the position of the proposed bird you wish to do this to?

If you get a bird, you're going to have to arrange for a bird-sitter either at your apartment or at a veteranarians. This way the bird will have companionship when you're gone, people who know when to feed and water it as well as ensure that it has a clean cage. If you do decide to buy a bird at this time, please, don't buy a bird that requires a lot of time, attention, and love as these things must be given on a daily basis.

If you decide to go for a bird at any time, take the time to research the bird species *before* you buy it. Different types of birds have different needs regarding cages, foods, toys, teaching of vocalization, etc. Find a group online where you can learn and/or research the type of bird so you know what you're getting yourself and the bird into.

My suggestion to you is not to buy a companion bird until such time as you're done with your travels. You'll be doing yourself and your proposed bird companion a huge favor.

Birds are social creatures and require a lot of attention. If you travel a lot you probably shouldn't get one. Also, they need to have their cages cleaned and food and water changed on a daily basis.

Birds are social animals and live in groups. To leave one alone for long periods of time wouldn't be healthy. Why don't you try house plants or fish?

I think that you should get a parakeet because some like to sit on you shoulder, some can talk , they're small enough to fit comfortably in you apartment, And they like to sing.

A vulture!!! They are so cute and will clean up any rotting flesh and carrion that you may have laying around your apartment.

try a parakeet instead of a parrot. parrots get annoying when they keep on saying hellohellohellohello!
