Jeez, if your a bad parent for asking this question than my mom must be a REALLY bad parent. (I've been drinking coffee since i was a toddler!! - or so i hear....funny part? I dont really like coffee. I never drink it now.)
I'd say that when your child is about 5, its okay to introduce coffee. The only bad part of coffee really is the caffeine. They say it could do things like stunt growth and get in the way of heatlhy brain development.
Being a college student going for an early childhood education degree, I learned that most of a childs brain development occurs between being born and 5-7 years old.
One of the parents at the daycare that i work at gives her son a tiney bit of coffee mixed with a WHOLE LOT of milk. She said it makes him feel special!! and like a big boy!!
Soda also has caffeine and diet foods/drinks have things in them (artificial sweetners) that do the same harm that caffeine supposedly does. As a student studying children, and hopefully a some-day-mother - i admire your concern about giving your kid coffee... At the same time, I'm living proof that it doesnt do much harm ((I'm a little short lol - but my mom and grandma both arent all too tall.))...

As you know, coffee contains caffeine.Generally a stimulant such as caffeine is rough on a childs system, especially when they're still developing.
I would'nt give coffee to a child, they simply dont need it.Most kids are 'naturally' active w/out the added buzz of coffee.Try chocolate milk chugs or something w/ vitamins like those trendy new water bottles w/all the vitamins in the world in them.

i've got been eating coffee many times considering the fact that i became 12. That crap approximately coffee stunting a guy or woman's advance is an previous wive's tale. Any common practitioner could permit you recognize so. i'm all grown up now and that i'm 5'8. for a woman, it incredibly is in no way stunted. people cope with caffiene otherwise. some get addicted, some do no longer. anybody who compares eating coffee to smoking is a entire moron. anybody who's THAT stupid must be killed. in the experience that your baby needs to start eating coffee, i could say to bypass forward and enable them to till they're the form that are gentle to caffiene.

if a child can enjoy coca cola he or she can drink coffee. they both have caffeine. but for years coffee has been stereotyped for adults and not children as it represents maturity to drink coffee. thing is most kids may not enoy coffee and that's why they may not drink it.kids enjoy softdrinks, koolaid, iced tea, other flavoured drinks so coffee to them would be blau and tasteless. as we age we tend to loss the sweet tooth craving for drinks like Koolaid or etc. its like liquor beverages like win and beer. adults love it but a child will not

Don't let your kid drink coffee, give them milk, thats bad parenting. My dad gives my 4 year old sis and 7 year old brother coffee. I'm allowed, but I know its not good for you. I'm only 15 and I know this!!!

my daughter is 13 & loves coffee! I make her drink de-caf - my son (15) hates it - so, there ya go! my daughter loves to go to all the coffee places, but I don't, so, I only treat her once in awhile....for a treat, unless she has her own money...♥

Who cares what other people think. If your kids like the taste of it why not.

Never - it tastes nasty. I love the smell, but taste . . . no. That plus the health concerns, best just to stay away.
