i wouldn't get anybody's name tattooed on me. mainly because i don't particularly care for word tattoos. i prefer things that are expressed in the form of art. they are more mysterious and interesting than just having a name. i do plan on having a tattoo done that will represent each of my family members. hopefully i can get it done in about a year or so, i plan on making it a full thigh piece and it will totally rock. it will be interesing and creative and unique and there will definitely be no names in it.

I have seven names on different parts on my body. A few are public and a few are in places only my girlfriends have seen. I'll tell anybody that asks, names are not for everyone.
I have been blessed in having girlfriends past and present that accept the history of these tattoos. Using names as a idea for a tattoo takes real thinking, it wasn't a cool thing for me. Before you have any done make sure of the reasons why you would have a name forever marked into your skin, whether visible or not.
Just a note, beside these tattoos, I have scarifacation and brandings done, none have been disapproved by anyone but my mom.

I love tattoos. When a person gets inked, its totally up to them. As long as its something special and they consider the fact that they'll have it til the day they die, it's up to the individual. If you don't have kids of your own, the names of nieces and nephews is a really great idea! My next one will be my daughter's name. I'm not much for the idea of getting bf/gf/spouse's names inked. I just think that's bad luck.

it's nothing wrong with that. But I would get my childs name tattoted on me before I get my neices and naphews names.
When you get a tattoo. Think about 10years from now. And how you will feel about the tattoo then.

Depends on the style and everything... certainly from an emotional standpoint it's a good idea. I'm not too close to my neices or nephews, but I'm definately getting my daughter's name, so I don't object to names at all.

it depends on the age of the person being tattooed. My grandson tattooes himself and other people-by hand -no tracing and the tattoes are really pretty...he is in his late 20's so it's ok.You have to know that it is permanent unless you have a lot of money for removal so be sure that is what you want.

Well, I just got my 1st tattoo Saturday and it had my daughters nick name Kaity Kat with a cat on it. I love it and doubt I will ever regret it. I am married but if I ever dated again I would not be offended if a guy had him blood relatives names tattood on him. :)

I like tattoos but I really think that names are not a good idea.
Why not incorporate an initial of the persons name into the design...

dont!! if u get a gf or bf, he or she would think u were a person who is married or divorce. also, u may like ur niece or nephew now, but as they grow older, u may not. keep in mind, getting a tattoo off is expensive and painful

I'm not a tatto fan. Based on my observation of my son and
others, having ANY name tattooed is ill-advised. The future
is full of surprises none of us would guess.
