what are some of the wierd rumors you've heard about mormons?
i'm LDS, but i wont get mad. im just kind of curious about what people are saying.

oh my, what to begin?
1. Joseph Smith had many wives.
2. We hide missiles in temple spires
3. Baptism for the dead involved actual corpses.
4. we can't eat apples
5. We can't eat ice cream
6. We buy stock in Budweiser beer.
7. We preach about 4000-year old quakers on the moon.
8. Mormons have horns.
9. We practice cannibalism, kidnap children, do blood rituals, and make virgin sacrifices.
10. We have God's head in the Salt Lake temple and worship it. It is either that, or we worship a stuffed seagull. Clogging naked in the temple. (courtesy of Shorty McGee Penguin Lover)
11. We wear magic underwear.
12. Mormons don't believe in the Christian Bible
13. LDS still practice polygamy (actually, part of it's true)
14. Mormons believe that God the Father and Mary had sex to have Jesus.
15. Mormons don't believe in the divinity of Jesus. (The biggest one yet)
16. Mormons are conspiring to rule the world.
17. Mormons believe that Adam is God the Father.
18. We have sex in front of our children.
and my most favorite one:
19. We're a cult.
If you ask me, most of them seem far-fetched.

That we use our genealogy resources to compile hit lists for those who "oppose our fanatical regime".
That the spires on the Temple were really phallic symbols.
That a couple being wed must consummate their union in front of their wedding guests! The alter which they hold hands across is suppose to signify the marriage bed and is used as such. Each couple then hopes to have concieved their first child from that union.
That we believe that Jesus resurrected body had helium in His veins in order to keep Him floating in the clouds of
Heaven.
That all L.D.S. wedding dresses have two holes cut in the, ahem... lower front of the bride's dress so the groom can fondle her as part of the wedding ceremony in the temple!

Most of the rumors you hear come directly from the BYU library.. They all call the Tanners (www.utlm.org) liers and mormon bashers. But if you give it a thoural investigation you will see they are not lieing. The LDS church have been trying to stop them for years. But the laws say if it is the truth you can say it...Why dont you start to question your bishop and see how he rep remands you? Please if you can find one lie on this website and prove it please let me know..anywhere you see a lie they can show you the evidence. And yes Joseph Smith did have multiple wife's. U cant ask mormon leaders this question, do you actually believe they are going to tell you the truth. Ask for proof this website will show you the proof. Then decide for yourself.
