i was issued an invitation to a dance. the invitation said rsvp by the 22nd and it is now the 23rd. it would be mailed on the 24th and probably not arrive until the 25th or 26th.

do organizations like this usually accept late rsvps or at least put people on waiting lists?

should i bother responding or just give up?

p.s. you have to pay to get in, so it's not like they wouldn't want me.

any advice would be helpful. thanks=]

If there is an information by which you can contact the organization directly, do it. The sooner they hear from you the better. Usually the cut off date is because they have to let the caterer and others know how much food, etc., to prepare.

Depending on their deal with the caterer (whether the food is served by "the plate", or as a buffet, whether the organization planned for "extra", etc.)

But generally, if there is any way they can get you, they will. More money for them.

Call the organization that is putting on the event and ask them if it is too late to RSVP. Usually, when organizing an event the planner takes into account late responses.

Just call the organizers and explain that you missed the deadline and ask if there's still room. I'm sure there probably is. Be sure to thank them when they allow you to register.

If you're having to pay to get in, then just send the R.S.V.P. and your check. As long as you're paying, it shouldn't make a difference. Your reply will only be a couple of days late.

If you know someone on the organizing committee, call.
Explain that you want to go, but missed the deadline.
If they say no, ask if anyone has cancelled,
& offer to buy their ticket.
They want to know numbers for planning purposes.

Show up at the dance, with a hanky and tell the check-in folks that you are gonna cry your heart out right there if they refuse you entry. They will let you in. Have fun NEVER GIVE UP!!!
