i just started about 3 days ago, three new medicines my doctor put me on for PCOS. he said one of them would cause diarehha while i was getting used to it, but although i have gotten diahreaa, i feel nausous, blurred vision, very weak and like im getting the flu. should i just continue to give the meds a chance to work? stop taking them? go to the emergancy room? i felt fine and normal till i started these medicines. they are yasmin(birth control) metphormine, trazadone, in combination with my multi vitamins, and b-12 pills. any advice is appriciated.

it could be the dose of metformine since it is suppose to control blood sugar. It might take you a while to get used to of it lowering your blood sugar. These also show up as the side effects of trazadone in my books but i am not sure If the symptoms are from the combination or one of the drugs alone. I think you should talk to your doctor if the symptoms continue about changing your meds.

The only side effect I'd personally consider a potential "emergency", is the blurred vision. You didn't mention to what degree you're experiencing this effect.
Excuse my interpretation, but you don't seem too concerned about that specific issue. If the blurred vision is continuous, 1) STOP TAKING THE MEDS, and 2) Scoot to the ER ASAP!
Based upon the description of your side effects, you should follow the information that came with the prescription. Contact your Dr.
While waiting for a call back, contact the pharmacist. The final word on whether you continue with this regimen, should come directly from the prescribing physician.
Who knows, this may be perfectly normal, but why chance it?

The birth control pill Yasmin most probably is the cause of all your symptoms. They are usually experienced by those new users who is just starting getting by. Though those symptoms usually just go away within few months, it would be for your own benefit to let your doctor know. Be aware that there are lots of possible side effects that you may experience at the beginning.
Such side effects may include: bloating, increase in blood pressure, darkening spot of the skin, nausea & vomiting, change in appetite, headache, nervousness, moodiness, dizziness, loss of scalp hair, rashes, vaginal infections and possibly change in vision especially those who are on contact lenses.
As you are also taking Metformin, be sure that your blood sugar is in good control. Having blurred vision and being very weak is quite a source of concern- be sure you are not getting low blood sugar.
To be ease and have peace of mind and for your safety, better to see your doctor to clarify all the doubts in the ne medicines you are on.

I'd be calling the doctor immediately. You're not describing a normal reaction.
Anything that causes blurred vision is just beyond the scope of normal. Feeling Weak isn't good either. You may just be catching the flu and it's coincidence but why take that risk.

It is always common to have new symptoms with new medication. Read the paper work that came with your RX from the pharmacy. It will tell you what the common symptoms are. If your are not on there call you Doctor, or if he is not in you can call the pharmacist. They will let you know if you should stop the RX or not.

Call the doctor who proscribe them to you. That's what I do with my meds.
