My husband (a pilot) will be flying out of JFK airport in NY but there is no way that we can afford/nor want to live in NY. He can ride on any airline to get to JFK but we of course want the shortest possible commute there is so we are looking at possibly moving near DC so that we are still in driving distance to JFK if there was bad weather/or couldn't get on a flight. Is there any homes that are nice and under $250K in between the two airports? I know this may be totally unrealistic but we are used to having a 1700 sq.ft. brand new home for $150K where we are from and I know that we will not find this in the NE but something either newer or something that has been updated would be nice.

What about Delaware? I live in Maryland but have been in my home for near 9 years. Home now estimates at $400,000.00 maybe more and it's 35 years old. Maybe Delaware or Pennsylvania you could find what your looking for. Aunt lives in Delaware and has nice home with nice spacious yard. I think it's more bang for your bucks and no state taxes.

Monuments and memorials, contemporary neighbourhoods, true regional taste this is exactly what Washington, DC is; a place unlike any; the same as this site hotelbye . Washington it's your property away from home with free museums and America's entrance yard. Washington is acknowledged all over the world as a mark of the United States. Here, the area you cannot skip is the Capitol. Capitol is the seat of the House of Representatives and the Senate. The large dome, on the basis of the dome of St. Peter's in Rome, stands out especially different Washington buildings. Like Washington it self, the making has grown over time because the key portion was built between 1793 and 1812. The final addition, in 1958-62, increased the main façade wherever presidents get the oath. On another part, a marble terrace offers lovely views on the mall and the city. The inner is resplendent with frescoes, reliefs, and paintings, specially the rotunda under the good cast-iron dome with a ceiling painting by Constantino Brumidi and large paintings of moments from American history on the walls.

If you are looking for affordable, DC is NOT your best choice. The best you'll find for $250,000 is an older townhome about an hour from the airports (well closer if you flew out of BWI, but the neighborhood isn't as nice).

How about Philly? PA is a lot cheaper than DC and closer to NYC.

Good Luck!!

Try looking at Baltimore. You can fly in/out of BWI, or drive if you have to. Lots of interesting housing in the city itself, or you can go south of the city (nearer BWI), and find suburban housing that's affordable. There's even farmland out there.
