Not exactly. If we imagine two hypothetical pieces of evidence, there is no reason why the one in favor of evolution should be fundamentally more meaningful than the one in favor of God. The thing is, the evidence for evolution exists, whereas the evidence for the existence of God does not.

There is a lot of evidence that is supposed to support evolution, but none of it links. Evolution remains a theory because there is no linking evidence. It is not a fact and does not have enough evidence to make it fact. No one seems to realize that it is an overall theory with many theories within.

So, since no one has hard evidence - evidence that links it all together and proves that it actually took place, a theory is all that it is. A well, thought out, intelligent theory, but a theory, nonetheless.

Yes there is quite a lot of hard evidence but with a process like evolution it is the mass of evidence that is the important and of course the new evidence that it coming to light every day. So much so that even the hard line creationists have to admit that the process of evolution does go on even if they will only admit it for micro evolution.

Anyone who studied or stdies history will realise that religion was and still is a way of controling the population and about money. The church owns more land than anyone else. Everyone in the UK pays for their local parish church, even muslims and Athiests. Every law has been derived from religion. Most wars have been about religion. What god, who's supposedly all powerful and about love, would put his creation through such hell as we have seen in our world? Go to Africa and see for yourselves. Also why should jews be the chosen ones and the rest of us not? Almost every religion makes homosexuality punishable by death, but if god is love and two men or women love each other they should die. Then god is all of a sudden evil. But by the accounts of the Bible, either Jesus or all men will end up gay in heaven as he is the groom by who's side we will be in heaven. Can I request to be the groom and Jesus' sister be my wife rather? My teacher told me that every law is in the bible. Copyright? DVD-Piracy? Parking fines? Speeding fines?

Hi.....

Certainly YES......... er but!

There is not only 'one' piece of evidence, in 'favour' of Evolution is there!!

There's BILLIONS!!!!

Notice the religious answers are stating: 'There is 'no' evidence'?

Everything on the planet, is more in tune with the evolution 'theory', than the creationist 'theory'!!

If the religious can only rely on 'faith', then let 'us' say to them that:
'We have 'faith' that EVOLUTION 'has' created everything'!!!

Then, we are both on, at least an 'equal' footing, aren't we!

Although....

There IS evidence for evolution, but absolutely NONE for 'any' of the religions!!!

Man created science and the 'theory' of Evolution.....

Man 'also' created religion and the 'god' concept!!

MAN CREATED GOD, IN HIS OWN IMAGE!!!!!

Those of us who have the common sense to accept evolution know that over time scales involved the theory relies more on logic. This is more than can be said for creationist theories.

EDIT don't be too hung up on the word theory - as in the THEORY of universal gravitation. Or Pythagorus THEORUM - these are "theories" but we know them to be fact. Being a theory merely means that it cannot be backed up with tangible physical evidence and relies on logic or mathematical proof to support the theory, it does NOT mean it is unscientific, though creationism certainly is unscientific.

Definitely !
The latest scientific evidence comes from the analysis of DNA.
Anyway, the existence of any god is a matter of faith, while the Evolution is a scientific theory with stronger evidence accumulating for every passing year.

I never thought I would argue the side of religion.

BUT, The so called 'hard evidence' of evolution is based on theory.
Scientists have identified many species by fossil remains but it is all just what they 'believe' to be true.

In 6 days God created everything then on the 7th He rested.
If there is a being capable of bringing everything into existence, who are we to say how long His day was.

Except that there isn't even one piece of hard evidence in favour of evolution. None of the so-called evidence stands up to proper scientific scrutiny.
