Remember, the dog is only part of the problem, the fleas will also have moved into the carpeting and upholstery. So you will also need to get the house cleaned.

A good flea dip will be the best start. There are products that can be purchased at any good pet supply store, or a professional groomer or some vets can do a flea dip.

Once the inital dip is done, get a good repellent, such as Frontline, so keep the fleas away.

Go to your vets to get some flea treatment. Don't bother trying anything from a petshop, the stuff sold in stores doesn't work, that's why it's cheap.

You will also need to get some spray for your house from the vets, as 95% of the flea population will be living in your house rather than on your pet.

A greyhounds hair is so short, and their skin is so thin, this should not be a problem. Wash your dog, comb and pick out parasites. Then dry and apply frontline. If your really lazy give him a Capstar and then apply frontline. The Capstar will start to kill fleas in a few minutes, but you must apply a long-term flea medicine afterwards. Otherwise they will come right back.

Stronghold from the vet is the best flea treatment on the market. Kills fleas, ticks, skin mites. Treat on a monthly basis, and bathe in flea shampoo also initially. Treat/wash all bedding, treat carpets and anywhere you feel those little blighters may be hiding.

The best and only way that works for me is Frontline. You simply apply it to your dog's neck once a month. Then your dog walks around like a little flea bomb because they jump on your dog, they bite it, then they die. Very simple. We had fleas, and simply by applying it to our cats and dog, within a month or two the fleas were all dead. TRY IT.

No longer sure about eucalpyus oil, however pennyroyal oil does work. It's a member of the mint household, so you'll have mint scented puppies. And assess along with your vet, commonly which you could treat the mother for fleas with a few of that stuff that you just put on the neck so we can aid with the puppies trouble as well.

front line or advantage. Advantix is better, but don't use it if you have cats. Its bad for them. In the meantime, there is a med you can get from you vet, its called Casper, it will kill the fleas right away. But you need something that lasts, Casper does not.
