one visit if there was any infection to what they call an open and medicate to let the infection drain and put you on a course of meds and let the antibiotics take there course so the next appointment they will be able to finish your root canal with out any complications bacuse if for any reason you have alot of infection or swelling you wiill not go numb and it takes time you should wait to have a crwon done until you know the tooth is okay wich is about a week or so when a root canal is finished it will be tender so wait for the prep to be when the root canal is finished sch it for the next wek out they will put a temp filling material in it to hold you by just dont eat on it the tooth is dead and has no life in it so it can fracture just becarefull on that side.
