There is no happiness in material goods or power or wealth or fine food or sex for that matter. It leaves you very empty and you just need more of it and you will never be able to have enough of it.
On the other hand I will go with what Saint Augustine says about our hearts . There is a vacuum in our hearts which we try to fill with all the material goods and in many other ways which i have mentioned above which cannot be filled by them.
The Vacuum is created by God and can be filled only the gift of God the Holy spirit .
Spiritual happiness is the true and lasting happiness.

Happiness brings happiness. You have to become what it is you search for. Material things cannot bring happiness because they fall apart, can be taken from you and only create a need for more. You can only be happy when you go inward and realize that we are all more than we appear to be and how perfect everything is. When you realize the difference between your wants and your true needs you only see how perfectly we have all been provided for and that is why we have time to create false needs(addictions) and gods.We all have enough and in the pursuit of more than we need We create inbalance and a belief system that creates the haves and the have nots. It is all an illusion. The physical is finite and we are not. the fact that you can't take it with you when you die proves that. Happiness is. Make it yours or look to all the things you don't have and that is what you will always be focused on. Only sad results from that way of thinking. Be happiness!!!!

I don' t recognize i'm torn with this question there is to lots of a grey section here, i like nighttime angel yet what approximately paying for issues for those that incredibly deserve and want them and have no thank you to ever get them like a family contributors that has no money,,,that works very stressful and in basic terms can not get forward no longer lazy people who assume to get each thing for unfastened yet stressful working people humble people those are people who deserve the help first however the question is incredibly complicated simply by fact i can not even think of of a non everlasting difficulty to convey long term happiness like an occasion exertions pains are non everlasting and yet infants are long term advantages, exercising hurts and sucks even nonetheless it brings happiness and definite real happiness to those that stick to it, i think i'm attempting to think of that some issues are briefly going to be stressful and placed across happiness,,,,that's no longer even the question ah! I provide up lol

Happiness is a state of mind which can be best achieved by knowledge coupled with needed minimum wealth and the maturity to lead a simple, modest and peaceful life!
To be happy forever, one need to be active in life till end and to this an involvement for a service of satisfaction either as a job or as social service is also a must in life!

No, not completely, although that's not a very good example because it implies that all singers, actors, politicians and so one have mental and emotional problems.
We wouldn't be happy with only immaterial things. It's not shallow to say so. We all know that having food, and a roof over our head, and our favourite music, and our best pair of jeans and so on all contribute to our happiness and wellbeing. Some more than others, obviously, but they do. We need stuff like love and friendship too, but we wouldn't be happy with those things alone.

Having money certainly doesn't hurt! But, the Bible says those with wealth (having much) also has a greater responsibility. The Bible also says where your treasure is your heart is also. So, where is your treasure? In material things? or in the spiritual plane? Perhaps not collecting "stuff"; but rather giving of yourself and your resources to help others is the true road to happiness.

I believe what brings "real" Happiness is when You can give someone Spititual Help that lifts their Spirits, and gives them Hope. ( As Long as there is LIFE, There's Hope.)
I also believe You gain Happiness from within, when You see that someone Has a "Material" Need and You Fill It for them.
I believe to really find Happiness, is When You Sacrifice!

According to Buddhism, happiness is understanding that all things arise due to causes and conditions, are changing and impermanent and clinging to the ego, concepts or anything else for that matter, or aversions to the same, will cause suffering.

The only fool proof way to true happiness is through God. I've tried almost everything, and that is the only cure for the blues.

i think you need to balance your material and spiritual lives, since you have to have your basic needs met to be happy. If i don't have food i won't be very happy, and also if i don't have a connection to the divine i will not be very happy either. I say we must balance material, spiritual, and emotional to be truly happy.
