There are a lot of people who believe that, it is not just one religion that believes it. There are even a lager amount of Christians that believe it, just for the simple fact that they don’t what to except there is a place called hell. They just look at it one-sided; to them everything is lollipops and gumdrops. They don’t what to hear the truth, they just what to hear the sugar coated, feel good, life is a bed of roses speech. Well I hate to be the one to burst their bubble, but roses have thorns. †

In my experience this seems to be a fundamental tenet of many New-Age-ish religions. I think Sylvia Browne's home-made religion espouses something like this idea. It's sort of a best-of-both-worlds: you get an all-knowing, all-loving, caring God but no Satan or Hell to worry about. The idea with these religions seems to be that we're all incarnated to learn and experience, and there isn't some strict moral code of right and wrong, so you can't be punished for bad things by going to hell.

This is the impression that I get about it anyway. I have a friend who, despite being an otherwise reasonable and rational person, likes Sylvia Browne immensly.

We cannot grasp the infinite goodness of God.

Our religion, the Roman Catholic Church trust solely in the light of faith through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. What is writ tern in the holy scripture is our way in loving God and neighbour.

Be mindfull to the text of the holy scripture since it is a word of God we need to ask the proper intercession in attaining the truth: "read the temptation of the devil to Jesus in wilderness."

Christan Science is one "christian" religion that my family tried, before I got saved in a full gospel Assembly of God..

Christan Science believes that sin does not exist. The founder, Mary Baker eddy said "sin is mortal error"!

Although that IS true in the after-life with God, it is NOT true on this sin-cursed planet!

She taught, and CS believes...'No sin, so no need of salvation, no devil and no hell.

I wonder if a lot of NON-bible-reading, NON-church-going "so-called Christians' think that too.

They live like all paths lead to Glory. That just can't be right!!! If heartless bullies go to there, it won't be heaven at all. So that can't be true!

I was wrong thinking that.

Sadly my kid brother died "unsaved", believing every one goes to heaven, including his pets.

Nice fantasy, but it's a trick of the devil to make us sloppy on the road to heaven.

Jesus is THE WAY.

Don't try to jump across the "great divide" between this world and the next, on your own righteousness. Christ is our righteousness. He is an ARK to carry us across that river, to the other side!!!

many pagans believe all gods are the same god but we visualize them as different entities. "God" is the name used to describe the Creator, and Satan is a name used to identify the fallen angel Lucifer in Christian myth. Many of us consider Satan just another myth rather than any sort of real entity. We perceive "Satan" and "God" to be the same being rather than two separate beings--we believe you can't have good without bad, or constructive energy without destructive energy, because the Universe demands a balance of these energies. Some pagans do believe in the Christian mythology in some way and worship one or other of these deities. others of us don't believe in Satan at all, and many of us don't like the Christian version of god because he seems conceited and demanding and sadistic rather than a loving god.

judaism believes that satan exists, but he is not G-d's eternal nemesis... he is an angel, whose job is to "accuse" the devout, by putting their faith to the test.

You will find it a common belief in Christianity. Many think that you cannot personify evil - that is a product of the imagination.

Wiccan beliefs rely on a God and a Goddess (or many) but no devil/satan. We don't need a scapegoat - we take responsibility for our own actions.

Hinduism professed by Hindus in India. Satan needs no role any more where polytheism has slipped further down into idolatory.
