I was born in London but I am living in Ireland a long time now. From what I can remember now I may be wrong about this cos it is going back quite a while since I was there but I think the focus point was to Piccadilly Circus. Yes London is a very big place. I used to live in the borough of Brent.

Sorry, don't know about Great Britain, but in some countries it's the main post office and in some countries it's the City Hall.

Most distances to towns and cities in the U.K. are measured to the centre - in the case of London, that is the square mile, known simply as 'The City'.

All road signs advertising distance to a town or city are giving you the distance to the town/city centre.

I seem to remember being told that it was to Piccadilly Circus, but my informant could have been wrong.
