No one is stopping this known information. Every time a new name is added I pray that our fallen heroes that have lost their life for freedom that happen to have a anti-war family member can forgive them for unknowingly desecrating their last wishes, life, death and memory.

The United States of America was created by flag draped coffins and those who survived the wars; our veterans. Today our existence is assured by those who have the calling to serve and protect our country. These brave individuals are freely enlisting to make personal sacrifices for our country and freedom for all.

Our heroes that return home in a flag draped coffin would not want their memory and patriotism desecrated by anti-war protesters who obviously will never know the true feeling of comradeship, loyalty and patriotism; these are feelings that can never be truly defined. The best thing everyone can do to support our troops and the memories of those we lost is to help those who return home to us; our veterans

Hmmm, who says this information is being withheld?

Erudite, how about a Link to a Source that proves your supposition, or would that be asking too Much for some honesty from you?

All these Names are verifiable through Many sources. The Only ones not currently named are due to the Casualty Notification Teams not reaching the Next of Kin Yet.

Something a Supposed Veteran would Know, surprised you claim ignorance of that......

well maybe not so surprising considering you...

Many war supporters, under the pretense of protecting national security interests or not demoralizing the country and our troops, will justify outright censorship of information pertaining to our failed efforts in Iraq.

I find their efforts to impede the dissemination of information to the public a bit at odds with the virtues they say they are intent on defending. After all, some of the definitive aspects of our democracy are our entitlement to free speech and our right to expect open access to information. By blatantly trying to obscure evidence concerning this war, these war supporters are violating the very spirit of America.

In order to truly be a patriotic American, one must always uphold the right for citizens to obtain information pertaining to events that effect their country, no matter how deleterious that access to information may be to your current political aims. Democracy is a fragile thing, and to curtail the citizens’ efforts to acquire as much data as possible about this country’s predicament, is to lead this nation down a dark path towards totalitarianism – for all totalitarian regimes start with the control and censorship of information.

Erudite...
My dear friend, let's drop the idiot routine. Why do you think the military would not release the name of somebody who was just killed in combat? Let's think for a second. Would you believe that the military first makes contact with the next of kin, which might take a few day? Would you also believe that they would give the family the respect of giving them a few days to mourn in private before releasing the name of their loved one to the public? Yes my friend, the answer is just that simple. One more conspiracy you crazy liberals can scratch off the list...

You seem to be trying to say that a bunch of people think that war is a good thing.
No one feels that way, War is hell. Unfortunately, War is often necessary. And it is necessary that the USA NOT surrender.
Maybe the invasion of Iraq was a mistake, maybe not, but in anycase actions have consequences. We cannot afford the consequences of a victory for terrorism.
If the Democrats had tried to work with President Bush instead of constantly whining, obstructing, and lying about him, maybe they could have been able to get some of their ideas considered. But, that is what happens when Democrats engage in politics of personal destruction.

Last I knew no war supporter was trying to stop the names of casualties from being reported. Also no war is bloodless, its the nature of war. Stop being retarted, no one whether for or against the war wants to hear the numbers or names of those who have died every day.

CNN regularly reports on the deaths in Iraq. I was shocked to see that 39% of the deaths were non-hostile.

this is the fraud the world face now
they try to make benefits and profits from this war wheel to go round and around
by faked contracts of rebuild and construction
plus the armement of the troops
so that they have to keep the war going on coz it means billions of net profits

They're not exactly trying to stop it, just jading themselves to the daily deaths. As long as they're dying for the 'greater good', it's all beneficial from their perspective.

Stop using the troops for your political protest, they are human beings and should be revered
