The problem with atheists is that they think of christians as dim-witted and ignorant. The problem with christians is that if you do not believe them you are already condemned to hell.
The good thing about christians is that the way they live generally makes you a better person. The good thing about atheists is that they're free from religious "rules".

SO WHY CAN'T WE FKIN GET ALONG!?

There's no need for atheists to make christians believe in evolution, and there's no need to call atheists satanists.

Another question why is it that when atheists argue over something, they mainly focus it on christians?
And vice versa?

No, that's not correct.

The reason that atheists think of Christians as dim-witted and ignorant is that so many of the Christians are dim-witted and ignorant. That's not a "problem with atheists", it's a problem with Christians.

The statement that "the problem with christians is that if you do not believe them you are already condemned to hell" is also wrong. First of all, there is no hell, and secondly, the Christians' main problem is their utter lack of basic honesty and morals.

That leads to the false statement that "the good thing about christians is that the way they live generally makes you a better person". Look around you - are the Christians "better persons"? Better than who? Other than the Muslims, just about everyone is better behaved than the Christians.

The good thing about atheists is that we're honest and sane.

I think that you thought that you were presenting an even-handed account here, but in fact what you wrote was wildly biased towards the Christians. If this were the way things really were, the atheists would be MUCH happier with the Christians. But in fact this "Christians would be fine if they didn't say people are going to hell" fantasy dramatically favors Christians.

Who says Christian and Atheists can't get along? Many Christians work in an atheist environment. Don't tell me they argue all day long at work. I have atheist friends but I certainly don't judge them or dis-respect them because they are not Christians. Christians should not judge people anyway. Just pray for their salvation. Christians are probably the most tolerant people around. They can accept all kinds of people as friends I mean they befriend people in prison, from drug rehab and they forgive criminals! So what if you hear about stories of Jesus Christ and how you can be saved. So what if I hear stories of evolution and God does not exist theories. In the end, what matters is which story you are going to believe.

You should not generalize.
Many Christians accept evolution as a scientific fact, which is absolutely not contrary to their religion.
Evolution is simply a mechanism for the Creation to take place and develop.
The Universe is dynamic. Stars are born and die even today and so does life wherever possible.
Therefore the Creation is an evolutionary process, not a single event, except perhaps for the initial Big Bang.
The problem with all religions is that important concepts have been humanized in their mythologies in order to be understood by the laymen of 2K years ago.
By taking them literally we are creating useless silly controversies which help no one. A waste of energies.

i **DO NOT** think of Christians as dim-witted and ignorant. That's the first error in your list.

To continue, Christianity didn't make me a better person, it taught me to be judgemental, narrow-minded, ashamed, fearful and self-centered.

I don't even try to make anyone believe in evolution. Because a great biology professor taught me some cool things years ago, I put a good bit of effort into developing a solid understanding of how the processes of evolution work. Should I keep that to myself, then?

We won't get along until we listen to each other instead of labeling each other. You've done the latter here.

I agree with Kotaro Z. You must be new here. Every newbie complains about the mudslinging going on here, but that never changes anything. I don't think atheists and Christians will ever agree on anything, but we can have still hope for it.
Just one other thing: "The good thing about christians is that the way they live generally makes you a better person. " This is not true. Atheists can be just as moral as Christians, or even more so occasionally.

The reason that it's mainly atheist vs. Christian on this site is because the site is in English. Most English speakers were raised in a majority Christian country, or one that's historically Christian.

As for us getting along, I figure anyone who comes here can handle criticism or at least take things with a grain of salt.

I think you're insulting a hell of a lot of intelligent christians by implying that none of them 'believe' (as if it was a matter of faith) in evolution.

I reckon the reason we can't get along is atheists stand for thought reason and tolerance and religion (not just christianity) stands for blind faith which leads to intolerance violence bigotry and ignorance.

It is the judging of others that is the problem. The "christian" who spends their life judging others has less chance of getting back to father than the "athiest" who is a good loving non judgemental person.

Because religion keeps on trying to mess with my life, and the lives of those around me.

Just stop the interference in laws, politics, medicine, science, reproduction, education, sexuality and war, and I'll say no more about it.
