I think it's getting worse.

Any Holy words of reassurement?

Thank you

First of all, realize that OCD is a defeatable disorder. You can overcome it, especially with God's help. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," writes St. Paul.

Secondly, decide right now - TODAY - whether you are going to be an active participant in society, or an isolated person. I think you will choose the first option. And you can make it happen.

Thirdly, treat Obsessive Compulsive Disorder as your ENEMY that is keeping you from finding joy in life, and with that perspective you can find the courage each day to fight it.

When you are seized by a compulsion, reason with yourself like this:

"If I do NOT engage in this compulsive activity, no one will die or be harmed. Whatever disasters I am trying to prevent has not killed me yet and will not kill me an hour from now. However, if I give in to my compulsive rituals, OCD is going to continue to dominate my life and keep me from happiness. I will NOT let it have victory over me."

With Christ as your helper, you can achieve this victory over self. Every day that you wake up, offer your day to Christ. Offer Him your failures and your victories, and at the end of the day, thank Him for the victories!

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
Hebrews 12:11

If you let others know, it will truly help you. Like in the Hebrews verse, telling someone may seem real hard and not what you want to do, but later on it WILL help.

I just recently learned that my friend had been throwing up her food and cutting herself. The day after school got out, she overdosed and was put in the hospital. She hadn't told her parents about this struggle that had been going on for about 3 years. When they learned, they were willing to HELP her because they love her and wanted to help her get better. She is doing much better now and has support from all of her friends and family.

If you tell someone, which you should, it will truly be better in the end. The longer you wait, the harder it will be. Just remember, God loves you no matter what. If it is hard to tell family, talk to a religious leader who will surely guide you in the right way. I hope everything turns out okay and be sure to e-mail me if you need anything. God bless you.

Advice: The more you know the less scared a person will be. Get to a doctor, and learn about ocd. With knowledge comes a means to fight anything.
Too scared to seek help - is not a way to live at your full potential and happiness.

Romans 8:28--And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Romans 5:3-5--Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

Don't be afraid to seek help. Pray for courage to seek help, and for wisdom to seek Godly council.

"If the Son sets you free, you will be actually free."

Jesus will set you absolutely free from the trouble that you are going through.

Saint Paul says that you will not be tested beyond your strength.

"Seeking first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you"

Surrender yourself completely to God and let the Holy spirit lead you in your life and the comforter will give you victory in every circumstance in your life.

When you're worried...ask God for help. When you're scared...ask God for help. Pray to God and Jesus for guidance. You're strong enough to ask for encouragement here and God will make you strong enough to get help. We can do anything through the Lord God who strengthens us. Remember to give your worries over to God, because our Father knows what we need, and he will give us comfort. Good luck to you and God bless you!

Zeph 3:17 The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing."

Jeremiah 29:11-13 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
