I ask because my 4 yr old daughter had 2 pinkish bumps above her lip & over time she picked them off & they never came back. Then several months later she got one on her upper arm. (about where you would get a shot) Is this normal or something to worry about?

Hi there, I had a skin tag removed from my neck a couple of weeks ago. It had been there since the birth of my first child. It never bothered me but I had it removed by a dermatologist b/c it was close to a precancerous lesion. She just used a little liquid nitrogen and it came right off along with the other lesion. I have a hx. of skin cancer so I get checked often. As for your little girl, I wouldn't worry about it. Just remind her to not pick at it so it doesn't get infected. True skin tags are not dangerous at all. They are notorious for disappearing and returning. To ease your mind, I'd just bring it up to her doctor the next time she has to be seen. My advice is.....no worries. :)

You shouldn't pick off a skin tag but you can't do much if she picked it off. They aren't anything to worry about as far as I know, but see your doctor if you are concerned. She can just have them removed when she is older if she wants. It's a super quick procedure.
