Look on craigslist or your local papers/online city classifieds ads. To avoid being scammed make sure the seller has the title in his/her name and records for the car the entire time they owned it. Oh, and if someone has not owned a car for at least a year or two DO NOT buy from them. Of course, run a VIN number check to make sure the car was not wrecked, flooded, or stolen in the past.

if you are looking on line go to cars.com, and whenever u do buy a used car make sure to a history check on it, whenver the car has been serviced it will show up on a history report, u get a history report form the autos vin number. it should be located on the drivers side of the dash if you look in the windshild of your car. and if u are buying from a privet owner (and u a serious about buying the car) ask him if he would mind if u took it to a service repair shop to make sure that everything is mechanicaly sound.

A private owner is usually the best person to buy a car from. They usually take care of the car and have low mileage on it, especially if it's an older person.

i have bad experience with private sellers more than used care dealers.
no matter what you choose, get a trusted mechanic (or any mechanic) to look it over before you make the purchse.
