Allah mistakenly referred to himself as the God of Abraham and referred many times to the Bible as his word and says he is ina agreement with the prophets of God...Now when a Muslim studies the Bible and see it disagreed with Muhammad they are then forced to call the word of God corrupt. This opens up its own serious problem in that a prophet has to be announced...Muhammad knew this and referred to the Bible saying it announced him ...Muhammad never called the word of God corrupt or he could not have been a prophet of God because all prophets must agree and must be in agreement with the word of God. This presented Muhammad with a problem he could not get around but somehow Muslims overlook this major dilemma. The true word of God explains how to test a spirit and a prophet and Muhamamd fails as does the Gabriel of the Qu'ran.

Another person asked this question last week and all the answers were that they use the bible when speaking to a Christian because a Christian wouldn't necessarily believe anything from the quran. Nobody answered as to why they quote a scripture against a Christian in retaliation for something they took as an insult to Islam. I'm interested to see what some of the answers are.

Muslims you cannot have it both ways:either the Bible is corrupt or it's not.
I was surprised to find the Quran quoting the Blessed Virgin Mary as part of the Trinity.Surely if there was Divine inspiration then the author of your holy book would know who(Christians believe) the members of the Holy Trinity are.

Um . . .we don't do that. We DO believe the Bible is corrupt, but YOU say it's not - so if you believe it's true, and Muhammad was prophesized in it . . .well duh, people.
We aren't telling you to trust the Bible, but you do. We tell you not the trust it, you ignore us. So we point you towards something that might get your attention.
I don't need to quote the Bible to prove Prophet Muhammad (phuh), or Prophet Jesus (pbuh), or any other prophet. I have the Holy Quran. But you don't want to trust that, for some reason.
-EDIT-
And as for going page by page to show us what's true and untrue, it would be practically impossible! Why? The Bible has be translated and reformatted and had the "bad bits" burnt out and thrown away and new parts added in and keeps changing to this day!
Who's to say what's real anymore?

the bible is a book of good so is the Koran. if u read the Koran all the stories r almost the same till the time that Mohammad become the prophet Muslims must believe in all the Prophets from Adam to Mohamed the old testament is the true book of god cause it was dictated by god its only that later the people changed it to the new testament so u should really trust the old testament. Allah means god and there is only one god and Adam, Jesus and Mohamed were the Prophets.

You said the Bible was so Corrupt not us!
We see truth in the Holy Bible if it can be confirmed through the proof we have. If it can be confirmed then ok we can accept it.
But you can see where the devil and his marry band of rejects has changed it, it makes sense one line and then the next line that you read makes no sense at all. Have a great look into things and the proof we have shown because there is great knowledge in what has been given to them, before them and after them.

IF THE BIBLE IS CORRUPT ??
Well if you you think that the Bible is Not Corrupt then you have to accept that the following verses full of lust, hatred and humiliation are from GOD, THE ALMIGHTY.
[Prov. 5:18]
REJOICE WITH THE WIFE of your youth. Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; LET HER BREASTS SATISFY YOU AT ALL TIMES.
[Song. 8:8]
We have a little sister, and she has no breasts. What shall we do for our sister on the day when is spoken for? I was a wall, and MY BREASTS WERE LIKE TOWERS.
WOMAN IS EVIL !
[Zech. 5:7]
The leaden cover was lifted, there was a woman sitting, and he (the angel) said: this is wickedness.
KILL WOMEN, CHILDREN, ANIMALS !!
[Ezek. 9:5]
And the Lord said, "Go through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have you pity. SLAY UTTERLY OLD AND YOUNG, BOTH MAIDS AND LITTLE CHILDREN, AND WOMEN.
and you have to accept that God doesn't know as much as we'd like to think he does... that all these errors came from GOD:

and to answer your question, we use it because the Bible is the Only Source that Most Christians will accept. But I'll be happy to use the Quran instead with anyone that will listen.

As a faith community, Muslims believe that Prophet Muhammad (Allah's Peace be upon him) was/is the one prophecied to come after Jesus (Allah's Peace be upon him). We accept Biblical prophecies, such as Genesis 18: 18-20, as referring to him.
We do not deny that there was a sacred covenant Almighty God made with Abraham; however, we differ as to who was the sacrificial son/covenant child. Islam views Hagar as a wife of Abraham (Genesis 16:3) and Ishmael, their son, as legitimate, while both Judaism and Christianity do not. Generally because of this, Islam is viewed by many as illegitimate and, therefore, have no place in the covenant Almighty God made with Abraham.
As a faith community, Muslims recognize and accept all the Israelite prophets of Almighty God, without question. As far as The Bible is concerned, we believe these prophets received Divine Revelation/Books in their original form and in their native language(s) exactly as The Almighty revealed to them--word-for-word, letter-for-letter. We don't believe these books exist in their original forms today. We believe that what is presently in The Old Testament and The New Testament have both the words of Almighty God and man.
It is not for Muslims to argue or debate with Christians as to the numerous prophecies in The Bible. However, we are most concerned with those prophecies referring to Prophet Muhammad (Allah's Peace be upon him) coming after Jesus (Allah's Peace be upon him).
The Christian community cannot have it both ways. Either The Bible confirms and supports the Trinitiarian doctrine or it doesn't. Either it confirms and supports the existence of hell-fire or it doesn't. Either it confirms and supports Jesus (Allah's Peace be upon him) being God and/or God's Son and not just a prophet or it doesn't. Either it confirms and supports Hagar, mother of Ishmael, as Abraham's concubine or it doesn't. Either it confirms and supports Ishmael as Abraham's illegitimate son or it doesn't. (It is very puzzling why Baptists, Catholics, and others who believe in the Trinity and hell-fire say The Bible supports those doctrines, while Jehovah's Witnesses reject those doctrines as un-Biblical. Yet, all of them believe and accept The Bible as God's Word.)
Nowhere in The Qur'an does it confirm or support the Trinitarian doctrine. Yes, there is a chapter in The Qur'an dedicated to her; however, that doesn't mean she is regarded as part of some trinity.

I have never said that the Bible is corrupt. I say the New Testament has been edited a little from the original.
Religious scholars have found very minute changes from the original Old Testament.

Actually Muhammad confirmed the Bible. And when you read the Qur'an, you can see that it is influenced by the Bible.
