The other day my girlfriend and I were talking, and she said that we should break up. We had only been going out for 2 months, and she said that our relationship was moving too fast. We didn't have sex but we had already done stuff sexually, and she said that it was too soon, but couldn't control herself. She broke up with her last boyfriend because all they did was mess around. We also didn't know each other very well before we started dating. So I can see where she's coming from. She said that she still likes me, that we should try being friends and get to know each other better, and that maybe we'll get back together. "If we do, great, if we don't, that's fine too". Her words were something like that.

She doesn't seem the type to play around with a guy, she's a nice girl. She doesn't have any other guys lined up either. We didn't end in a fight, so I can be friends with her. My question is, does this sound like a girl that wants to get back together at some point? Advice?

Judging from what you've given, it seems like she just wants to be friends right now. No harm in that; but it could harm your relationship if you try to force things if she doesn't want it. So maybe just let things slow down as she suggests. You seem like a patient person, and there's nothing wrong being friends, right?

Being friends at first can build a solid foundation of trust and respect. So even if you don't end up as bf and gf, you still have a solid friend you can always rely on. And there's no harm in that, right?

Good Luck, man!

Sounds like she's interested in getting back together if she gets to know you and still has the same feelings for you. Just get to know her better. The best relationships start from a foundation of friendship. Don't try to push to get back into the relationship though, just take it easy, she'll let you know when she's ready.

Staying "friends" is OK.
But don't look forward to anything else.
It sounds like the girl is trying to be nice to you - period.
