The strength of man comes from his ability to create fantastic tales. For example, if Caveman A has no religous beleif, he will be scared. If Caveman B has religous beleif, then he will feel like he has a guardian angel watching over him and will have the courage to accomplish any task within his grasp. Whether Caveman B has "faith" in something that is reality or not, it still helps through his daily struggle.

Diversity and adaptability. The threats to existence have been different ones, and the successful people survived. But now we are facing some threats to existence of the whole of mankind -- environmental and possible nuclear war.

i think that we survive these threats because of our will to go on. Strength without will to survive is like and invention with out a purpose. We survive because we choose to live

I feel it is nothing more than man's greatest asset. The will to survive. I feel we are all born with it but it gets forgotten in some of us. Therefore we do what it takes to keep us alive and growing.

The capacity to love fully with our hearts. There is and always will be plenty of good in the world and it will ultimately triumph. It always operates behind the scenes and is always opposed to divisive forces. It is subtle in its actions. Its domain is the heart- the seat of well-being. It is catalysed into action by care and concern for ALL living beings. Its field of expression is joy and happiness. It is the expression of the God within us. It is God.

The ability to think. To analyze situations, to understand cause and effect, to plan. Even in the warmth and bounty of summer we know winter will be coming and we plan for it.

Physically: Opposable thumbs.
I'd also think about man's genocide of competing species.
