Interesting Question, you have to always ask yourself what is steering them into the wall.

They have been left out the creation of the devil and assume its one of Allah SWT angels that is doing all that to them. LOL that is about the most ridiculous thing I ever herd a christian say. Blind so do love to lead the blind. Did you ever hear the term Misery Loves Company. Oh the one that leads them astray has done a great job of that, and his marry band of rejects is always in the Jinn and the Nass (Spirits and Humans) alike they are team against anything in goodness and the RIGHT PATH!

What came first, the dinosaur or the egg?
your observation is quite accurate. It seems that psycohogical factors like personality development; core-beliefs; orientation to the enviornment (introvert/extrovert; temprament etc) play a key role in what themes in scripture "sound true" for them. Theological debates that have little impact in the lives of common folk abound in semanaries. The discussions in the pews are more about thought constructs, feelings and behaviors. We all process information through a filter comprised of experience and preference (based on experience). Fundamentalists are better understood if you listen to what they're not saying. And in case you haven't noticed. Arguing is a complete waste of time.

I would agree that the Christian fundamentalist have changed the bible to make it suit their beliefs rather than using what is contained therein to change themselves.

IN this nation, one seldoms sees their actions as lovings ones neighbor as they love themselves nor as treating others as they themselves would like to be treated. One need only refer to the racial issues that have and do still face this supposedly "Christian" nation, as well as the rights of homosexuals or any group that is different from them (i.e., the Christian fundamantalist) to see how this is actually pracitced as opposed to how it is preached.

There is also a movement that seems to be equating salavation with earthly material "greed" or "success". If I recall correctly, Jesus said to his followers that they should sell everything that they own, give the money to the poor and then follow him.

We also have a Christain fundamentalist in the Oval Office. He has vetoed and has promised to veto again any proposed funding to the health care of children while being all too willing to fund the continued slaughter of more than 100,000 Iraqi civilians and over 3,000 of our own citizens while professing to be a follower of the "Prince of Peace".

Fortunately, God (whether we address Him as YHWH, Trinity/Father or Allah, Subhanna wa Ta'ala) is aware of what is happening supposedly in His Name and, on the Last Day, He will judge each one of us.

Ma'a salaam.
