What cataclysmic, world changing, ground breaking, intensly logical, extremely rational, monumentally sound, perfectly plausible, air tight, finely detailed and overally earth shattering thoughts have you conjured up that will forever change the world?
I would love to know what makes you "free thinking" advocates so "special" that you feel the need to define yourselves from everyone else in a sense that you must be the geniuses of the Earth.

whatever, just don't assume the disbelief in God gives you the right to act like you are smarter than everyone else.

Oh good lord.
If you're that threatened by intelligent people, you'd be better off just keeping it to yourself. Advertising your fears is generally not a good idea.
"whatever, just don't assume the disbelief in God gives you the right to act like you are smarter than everyone else"
We're not acting.
If it comes across to you as being smarter than everyone else, there's a reason.

Please, put that finger down and breathe. You sound angry and frustrated in you questions. Please sit down and think for a moment.
There are no such things as "air tight" ground breaking thoughts. Anything a person thinks of is always available to be questioned and proven wrong.
I have no idea where you get this feeling that groups of people are so selfish and elitist that they think they are "the geniuses of the Earth"
That, my friend is grouping people together and accusing them. That is prejudice and bias. An "-ism" as SouthPark has said. Even worse it is prejudice against thinking. The very essence of the Thought Police.
No one thinks a type of thinking is the only one. Now THAT would be thoughtcrime. That's why we have so many philosophical viewpoints.

Whether you believe it or not, I am not pretending to be anything other than myself. The answers I post here are the real me, exactly as I am in real life. The fact of the matter is that I actually am a genius, with a very high IQ, and I can't help it. I was born this way. What's your excuse?
I think what pisses you off is that I refuse to pretend to be stupid, for the sake of popularity. I gave that up in High School, after several members of the football team beat the crap out of me because I aced an Algebra III exam, skewed the bell curve, and caused their precious quarterback to be disqualified. Since then, I've learned to no longer care what others may think of me and to just be myself -- it's called having integrity.
I don't imagine you've ever amounted to much because, in real life, genuinely successful people are the ones who work relentlessly to improve themselves, regardless of their natural gifts.

I'm analytical -- a rational, not an idealist. I don't have an identity crisis and I have little desire to impact society. I have an internal value system and I'm not a lazy mo-fo; I don't need or want to be told what to think and feel. And I definitely don't need the security of being like everyone else; it's only pseudo-security anyway. I'm more interested in nature's secrets.

As a person who frequently just really loves to irritate them, I always get responses from them that show me just how stupid they think I am and how smart they think they are. It's like us saying "Duh, God IS real" and they don't listen to us. So you know, like I've said before, there are two sides. I personally am working on my second Master of Arts and don't feel in the least bit stupid or retarded or anything like that. I believe in God. Period. I realize that people have done lots of harm to other people in the name of God. That in no way puts the blame on God. It is sad that He gets blamed for so much when all He wants is to love us, which He does indiscriminately, even those who hate Him. He says He gives rain to the just and injust, the righteous and unrighteous. I'm sure that statement will be taken out of context but it is God's way of saying that He plays no favorites. The Bible is so easy to understand if you have half a brain to figure out what is really being said. I'm proud to have more than half a brain and can put my full faith and confidence in God and all of His love and promises.

Most of the folks on R & S are passionate and caring in what they believe and I respect them a lot whether I personally agree with them or not. We learn from one another.

"Freethought" doesn't imply we think that we are better than you.
It implies that our thoughts are free. No, really, that's what freethought means. I know... funny, isn't it?
Edit - Actually, most consider Deists to be freethinkers, and they believe in a god. Perhaps you should read up on a subject before you attempt to attack it.

You have better check the meaning of free thinking.

We dare to think outside of the bible and consider all forms of information, not just Jerry Fallwell...
There many amazing things discussed in this forum each day. If you do not care to read about them, what good is asking this question?

None that I know of.
I'm "special" because there is no one else like me.
You're probably "special" too, you just have to gain a little bit of self-esteem.
