The hours I need childcare are very odd hours. I would need someone to either come to my house, or maybe I'd go there. The days I need are Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Each day I would need them 5 hours. Tuesday && Thursday- 11:30-4:30, and Friday 11-4. I may also need them an hour or two more a week but I would not know until a day or two ahead of time. I am wondering how much would be correct to pay them each week?
Thanks so much

I would charge $12-15 an hour of that work, with expectation of extra pay for last minute help--your sitter has a life too, so to switch things around at the last minute needs to be taken into account!

I'm a childminder in the UK and charge £3.50 per hour.

If you in the UK you need to go to the Ofsted website and put in your post code. It will give you a list of childminders in your area. Some childminders will only take full time children although there are some like me who take children whose parents work part time and different shifts.

You can also claim money towards your child care costs through the Working Families Tax Credit scheme.

Make sure you and your child/children are happy with the person you choose. Don't just go with someone because they have a vacancy, look around, even if it means travelling a bit further afield.

Good luck in your search!

Place an ad on craigslist in the childcare section. This is how I found my nanny job. I charge a flat rate of $800 a month for 2 kids, which the parents pay half out of each of their checks.
