Never take more than 1,000 mg of vitamin C in one dose.

Taking up to 3,000 mg a day is OK (3 times 1,000 mg a day) but you don't really need that much.

1,000 mg a day or even less should be enough. Divided daily doses are better than a single dose every day.

vitamin C is water soluble.

If you take an excess it will just come out in urine.

Fat soluble vitamins like A.. you can take too much of.

I vaguely recall reading around a 1000 mg a day was the maximum - and that quantity was for a smoker who needs more.
