think about your background and hers make it work although you might have differences YOU HAVE TO MAKE IT WORK. If you religious introduce him/her to it talk with you wife and both of you make a list of things by definitely, no and still thinking about it at the end work on still thinking about it. A definite I would suggest is morality, respect, social skills, religion, and something you can agree with to motivate and build self esteem. Congrats by the way it's always a blessing hearing two people expand their family? Any baby names? Me Iam 22 married 2yrs. already greatful and incredibly happy no babies but we came up with definitely trying 4 one by 25-26 I mainly have boy names and girls I have but Iam a little more picky hehe! Well Good Luck and I hope the two of you can come up with a pretty kick *** list you guys will be fine Iam so sure!

I will not give you a religious speal but the basics that EVERY person should be taught are simple......it is NOT ok to lie, cheat, steal or hurt other people, or animals. Teach your child that what matters most is loving and being loved, to respect others & their opinions, and to always be honest. Values like that will pay wonderful dividends!

Don't force your religion on your child. Let them make up their own mind. Do take them to church though. Teach them that it is wrong to pick on someone just because they are different, whether it be that they are black, Chinese, Hispanic, overweight, developmentally delayed. When they are old enough, I think around age 10, get them involved in volunteer work. Teach them about abstinence, but also about safe sex, because most kids will experiment.

Try to be a good person in everything you do. You can preach to your child all you want but they will mimic what they see growing up. Showing them you do things that are just and right is good lesson to teach them.

a value that no one has put up yet is team work. by putting your child in a sport or activity of their choice they grow up with more pride in themselves and a sense of belonging. they learn to work with one another. which is a skill that will carry them through their working years.
these sports or activities teach them to interact with other kids.
the other ideas people gave are really good too.

Just the fact that you are asking for others' opinions tells me that you will probably be wonderful parents. Go with your heart and soul and everything will be great! Best of luck to the both of you!

I have to agree resect is huge, no one likes the kids that throw things or yell. I would also teach them to be polite and when certian behavior is acceptable.
