I have very dark skin n i dont think a lot of guys think i'm attractive 4 that. I mean when i was n 9th grade i used 2 get picked on ALOT because of my skin. they used to call me MIDNIGHT and when we watched a movie in my class, we had to cut the lights off and this boy was like sherry sherry where'd u go!! and everybody started to laugh. then i remember this one time i was taking a test and i had to makr down my race, one guy said what about Her (me) she cant put nothing down..CHARCOAL isnt on here lol. that was funny, but it was hurtful. and even though I'M THICK and i have a BANGING body and a FAT BOOTY( lol some say i could be buffy the body's lil sister) (so i've been told) lol, but a lot of the times guys dont notice me. i mean i think i dress nice n everything but they always seem 2 notice my lighter skinned friends and go 4 my lighter skinned friends than me. I mean i have a white girl friend who gets better looking black guys than me. i mean am i only attractive for my ***???

why do black guys like lighter girls and even white girls( i'm not racist)? i get jealous of my friends a lot of the times because of there skin. THATS LIKE MY ONLY INSECURITY!! my friends tell me i'm pretty and that i should just get over this but its SOO hard when ppl has been making fun of you for all your life. one time, i heard these guys talking about me and they was like she's alright but its her face...HER FACE IS BLACK!!!! and then another guy had complemented me and was like looking good sherry, but then another guy was like everything but her face!!! i mean i dont think im CHARCOAL but i am DARK CHOCOLATE, which i kind of like, but i'm in the 11th grade and ive only been on a date once. why is dark skin so ugly? and how to i become more noticeable around my light skinned friends and like...........HOW DO I ROCK MY DARKSKINNED NESS!?!?!? Guys can see that.. just flaunt the color of ur skin, talk about about how much you love it. Dnt let anyone put u down because of it. Dark skin is beautiful, remember that.

i totally agree with you..dark skin doesnt automatically mean a person is ugly......people could be ugly for many reasons and in some cases,the dark skin may aid a person's unattractive appearance but as you said....bone structure and features are the main factors. i'v seen so many light-skinned people that are unattractive..the whole 'dark skin' issue is a stereotype

Those boys are insecure, dear. I'm almost 18 and, im cookie brown. I never tried to let that stuff bother me, also, most of those boys who degrade dark skin are dark themselves. I saw it in movies and real life. A black man who was like that himself even said that those kind of black men arent secure in themselves and feel threatned so bashing dark skin is the key they think. If those black men that do it, ask them would they show it to their mother or sister aunt, granny? No, most wouldnt even dare. Colorism began in slavery and still exists today. A self hating black man can be many things but 2 me its black men who not comfortable with the skin their in. In fact, 90% of light blacks have a dark skin relative or ancestor. During slavery we were forced to conform to European beauty. Our noses hair and dark skin was "somehow" ugly- no true since most African women were raped during slavery. They still have colorstruck ingrained. Back in the day you had light skin or mixed babies to live cause you risked being killed last century. It still happens in new form- police brutality. It's aimed at blacks. DARK SKIN IS PRETTY ANY SKIN IS!

Definitely no, try to imagine those with lighter skin to have as dark as skin as yours, probably you re prettier. Just think as if you have light skin as theirs, surely they ll be nothing compared to you.

There are several people that have a dark complexion and they are beautiful. The people you are around are ignorant and immature, and just because someone is lighter than you, it doesn't mean they are better than you. You should be proud of your complexion, and do not allow anyone to make you feel bad for who you are. Ignore them, and someone will love you for who you are, and they will not mind how dark you are. Dark skin is beautiful and you should be proud of it. Don't listen to people who put you down we all have something about us that people make fun of but what you feel is your worst feature you have to make it your best feature and one day you will find someone who will love you for you.
