well i would probably make up an excuse, saying that i had a family thing or something. but if i went on a second date with a guy he would have to be cute and i would have to like him. haha

I think in most cases we find out enough on a first date to know whether we want the second date. A lot however depends on what you did on the first date. If you pick her up, talk 10 minutes , go to a movie, then take her home likely she doesn't even know if she likes you....
I think unless you are an obvious loser, then it usually take 2-3 dates to know if there is something there.

If you or your friend doesn't think she's interested in you, you oughta just move on otherwise you'll get your hopes up then when she meets someone that she's REALLY into, you'll be left out in the cold, hurting and crying. It's not cool man. Not cool.

well if she even considers a second date she probably has at least slight interest in him
but if theres no interest at all she's definantly not calling you back

if they'er not incredibly hot or rich or something that i girl would want then no she would not go out with them if she wasnt interested obviousily
