I randomly get this heavy sour smelling breath and i have no clue what causes it. my mother tells me it smells like a very strong citric acid. i do not have diabetes . so what is causing this?

Usually, chronic bad breath comes from dental problems or low-grade sinus infections - both of these things cause smells that are more like a dead animal or rotten food. People also exhale ketones and acetoacidic acid when they are burning fat. See this link:
