religion as well. What are some of the more familiar terms that you are aware of used by Christians? And do you have a clear understanding of the meanings of these phrases used?

The terms most often used by Christians in relation to my person:

"You're going to burn in hell!"

"Just wait and see---you'll be sorry!"

"Education isn't important, the Bible is!"

"Damn, you're good-looking!"

All of these terms are rather self-explanatory, don't you think?

"Not perfect, just saved"--truly, an excuse to gloat about god...
"Jesus loves you anyways..." but not enough to keep you out of hell...
"Covered with the blood of the lamb..." I know what this means, but still find it gruesome...
"God is love..." self explanatory
"Slain in the spirit..." - falling down in awe of god

OK, I get what the terminology means, I spent a lot of time as a Christian. My question is this: are you guys aware of how violent and bloody much of the lingo of this "loving" religion is?

Thanks to a few college courses, I know a fair amount of the terminology. Some recent neologisms are unclear to me as I find the definitions are not used consistently.

Love the sinner, hate the sin. From their perspective I think it means, like the person, but hate what their doing. Whatever, I think it's BS.

Frankly I give Christian phrases little if any thought.
